My dad loves to tell me how I shouldn't drink diet dr. pepper. His recent diatribe made things especially sweet when I borrowed his car a couple of weeks ago and found this:
Greg finished his woodworking class in December. The table isn't quite finished and remains in the garage but he seems quite proud:
Unfortunately, you can pretty much find the same thing at IKEA for about $14. The class plus materials probably cost us . . . $250.

And finally, just for fun, check out Charlotte . . . she loves a good dress-up.

It was considerably less than that, and you can't put a price on the amount of experience and skills I gained in that class. This is a solid table.

Considerably less? The class was $170 and you haven't shown me the bills for all that quality wood - so I think my estimation is probably a little low.

I don't know what you are talking about, but the class experience was truly priceless. Just wait until my next class starts . . .

Krissi--aren't you the one that signed him up? I think the table looks fabulous. And there is a sort of sentimental value to it too. But the price thing is sort of why I don't take sewing seriously. (That and the fact I can't get over 8th grade.) Today I bought Anna a couple of super cute long sleeved shirts at Old Navy for $1.79. I could have spent 50 hours and $25 at least to do the same thing. Wait. I could never do the same thing.

Good points Carrie - KT did sign me up for the class and basically forced me into one night a week of labor in a wood sweatshop. I'm still recovering.

Ross, I think that table looks awesome and it would be a great place to display some exquisite Lego creations. Kitty had not room (or time) to criticize you when so many of your faithful blog readers are still awaiting our knitted prizes from a contest 3 years ago.

Brother Fornkahl - that's just plain rude. If you weren't so picky - you would have had your prize years ago! Years!

I think the table looks very geometric. Nice work, Ross. Now, who is going to build me some shelves so my playroom doesn't look like it has thrown up toys? You've spent plenty on money on learning those skills, Ross. Put them to good use.

You know what they say, give a man a fish... blah, blah, blah... teach a man to make a table, and he will buy lots of expensive tools.
