bring it

The Game starts today. I've been wanting to make some eating changes for awhile and now is the perfect opportunity. And with the Vita-Mix I plan on being unstoppable. For example, this morning I whipped myself up a smoothie of spinach, grapefruit, strawberries, grapes, and papaya. I will admit, however, that this wasn't my best concoction. But I worked hard and pounded it down - after all, my team is depending on me.

Greg is a good sport. Not only is he the only male in the competition but we aren't even on the same team. I'll do my best to not sabotage him . . . but no promises.

As part of this we have also named some good habits we want to start and bad habits we want to break. For me, my good habit is to do yoga sun salutations everyday. I know that sounds kind of weird but to me it also sounds kind of nice and stretchy and relaxing. Greg is planning on making sure he reads the scriptures for 15 minutes everyday. Showoff.

My bad habit - I'm going to watch less television. Instead I'm going to focus on reading more and listening to books on tape while I work on all those knitted projects that I owe people. For Greg - he plans on breaking the bad habit of hitting the "snooze" button. When we found ourselves at the gym early this morning Greg said that he was motivated to wake up simply because he felt the pressure to not disappoint his ladies (aka teammates). Oh brother.

Let the games begin.

Oh brother is right! I would like the record to show that despite my demanding insistance to be named the judge, Kitty is clinging to her control of this game. Therefore, I declare this game is rigged. No need to worry though, because I'm still going to judge from the sidelines like a back seat driver. Good luck!!

PS- Kitty, if you are watching less TV who is going to clean your DVR? Maybe you are only counting "live" TV in your cutbacks. Or maybe you can get one of those JB Fletcher books on tape.

I've already checked out some JB Fletcher books on tape. I'm ready to win.

Oh and on the weekend - I'll need to really work hard to clean off the dvr.

Well I must said how lovely it is to be on a team with such a motivated fellow! I can reallt feel our team just racking up the points left, right, and center. Unfortunately, I already earned myself a snacking penalty today because I was cutting up a pineapple for the kids and, without even considering my actions, scooped a few deliciously sweet pieces into my mouth. Old habits die hard.

Lindy, I don't blame you one bit for snacking on some delicious fresh pineapple. I have the metabolism of a hummingbird and need to eat constantly just to stay alive. I also have the urge to migrate south every winter.

ToddCat, I feel that your true place in this game is one of sabatoge. Who you agree?
