kitty's rant #4,289

I really do hate when people say to me on the phone, "I'll let you go, now." I really do. I mean I didn't realize that midsentence in our conversation you were keeping me on the phone. In fact, I thought we were having a nice conversation but all of the sudden with those dreaded words I realize that I was mistaken. This passive aggressive technique of "letting" me go doesn't work. You aren't letting me go you are instead telling me that something is more important than this conversation right now. That's fine - I get it - just be up front about it. I would absolutely rather hear, "I'm tired of talking to you on the phone right now" than the more "polite" phrasing that is just a bunch of crock.

the end. I'm letting go of this blog post.

Hmmm....maybe if your conversation was more entertaining no one would want to let you go. I think by bringing up this pet peeve of yours you have pretty much invited everyone you know to say it to you from now on for the rest of your life.

Well remember this toddcat - I will say it to you first - because I am ALWAYS the one who is letting you go - my conversation is charming and fascinating. . . yours . . . not so much.
