Top Five

Sure - people do this because they are "tagged" or something. We weren't tagged but really we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for posts right now - our lives must not be very exciting. So we are going to document our top five . . . of something.

Top Five on my cell phone:
1) Voicemail, 2)Ross/Greg, 3) Toddcat, 4) Mom, 5) Carrie

Top Five on Greg's cell phone:
1) Voicemail, 2) Me! 3) Missionaries - (that's it, he really isn't much of a phone talker)

Top Five movies (me):
1) Waiting for Guffman 2) Gross Pointe Blank 3) Love Actually 4) Notting Hill 5) Bourne series

Top Five movies (Greg):
1) Wes Anderson movies 2) Family Man 3) Crazy/Beautiful 4) Far Away (So Close) 5) Star Wars movies

That's enough. We're exhausted. Greg got his haircut tonight. He looks like he is joining the military - that's what happens when we cheap out.

KT, I was totally expecting to see Strictly Ballroom on your top 5 movies...and I thought I knew you.

Krissi, I was glad to see that I was on your 5 top cell listings. You are certainly on mine.

Hey Adam just got a military hair cut too! They can match. Also, I have to say Ross needs more friends if that is his top five!

Kitty, I guess I can accept that I come in 3rd place because I’d rather you call Ross #2 than me. (That’s so rude!)

Ross, who are you kidding? We all know I should be on that top 5 list and if you aren’t sure about that then I will start calling you all the time until you are.

Kitty, what about Drop Dead Gorgeous?

Ross, you can’t be serious. First of all you can’t put a whole category (Wes Craven movies) as a single number. It’s top movies, not top type of movies. Second, what is Family Man? Please tell me it is not that Nicolas Cage movie where he wakes up one morning married and with kids. Please tell me that’s not it. If it is we are going to have an intervention (or interruption) real soon to set you straight on the difference between good and bad when it comes to movies.

I do love Drop Dead Gorgeous and Strictly Ballroom. Nice call. Also -Toddcat - it is Wes ANDERSON movies NOT Wes Craven movies - please Ross does not love those stupid horror fest movies but he does love "The Family Man" starring Nicholas Cage - I think its the message more than the acting.

The point of my comment wasn't that he liked movies by some guy named Wes, it was that Ross is breaking the rules of the top 5 lists and I wasn't about to stand for it. And I suppose I can get on board with watching movies that, while not always the best entertainment, have a good message to share. I think that's why we are so fond of movies like The Burning Bed and anything starring Meredith Baxter Birney. The message of all these films is "do me wrong and you will go up in flames or get hit by my car". Watching these movies would be a great first date activity that will set the tone for the entire relationship that you are about to enbark on.

Wait a minute--Crazy/Beautiful? I saw about 30 minutes of that on TV and was utterly bored and completely disinterested in anything that happened to any of the stupid characters. Oh Ross--if you are going to like movies like this, I'm surprised not to see Better Off Dead or maybe the Flintstones Movie.

But Lindy - remember you hate - HATE Kirsten Dunst. But I must admit, I too have absolutely no desire to see Crazy/Beautiful even though Greg (for some weird reason) really does love it.

That's true--I am totally biased, but still I expected more. Do I need to point out that neither of you mentioned Big Business? I hope that was an honest oversight on your parts.

KTC -- excellent, excellent choices on movies. Ross, I wish I could say the same, but I'm with Lindy on the whole Kirsten Dunst thing. Also, the next time you do a top 5 phone list and Ross comes up two people short, just make it up. Even if Ross and I aren't telephone-bffs, it's a little insulting to be passed over in favor of blank space.

What ever happened to "Somewhere in Time" and "Girls just want to have fun"?? There is just something about being able to hold out your arm and scream "Richard!" and have it really mean something.
