Happy Leap Day!

For some reason I always think that when leap day comes along there is something magical about it. I mean we don't have any special plans but it is Friday and it is leap day - so really already the week is on the up and up! Also a shout-out to my friend Lys-An who was actually born on leap day - she and her birthday are difficult to forget.

When does she celebrate her birthday on non-leap years? Does she get better presents on leap years? And why do we call it a LEAP year? It's not like we are leaping ahead by skipping a day. We are doing the opposite and dragging everthing out a day later. It's like we are leaping back in time. I guess I just answered my own question.

Toddcat, it's time for you to grown up! They call it leap year because it makes you want to jump rope, or "leap rope" as they said in the old days.

All I can think about is that it is just one added day to the misery that is winter in Chicago. Seriously, I am counting down the days until the middle of May (that is when it gets warm) and Feb 29th is just on extra stinking day!

I should have done something special today. It's kind of like that special extra hour I get every fall. I'll have to plan ahead better next (what? How long before I get another one of these?)

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. It was nice to have an actual day. On the years that I don't get a birthday I try to convince people to celebrate it on the 28th and the 1st and I am of the philosophy that I'd better get presents on the years I don't have a birthday just because I don't have one...
