And that's why we won't be going private

A lot of people make their blog private. Their is not judgment here from this end - I mean I understand it. It is uncomfortable to think that some random stranger could be reading these "intimate" details about your life. My sister made the choice to go private - she just felt uncomfortable that all these strangers could be reading about her kids (but if you really are curious let me know and I can get you access to her blog - me and the Toddcat love to comment on it). However, us Carlklef's have made the decision to not go private and I have to say we are quite happy about it. For example, my sweet friend that I met in Jerusalem, Lys-An recently found the blog. I have NO IDEA how she came across it but I have to say that I was absolutely thrilled to get back into contact with her. I must admit that I really thought she was long gone - I went so far as to take her off our Christmas card list because I didn't know where she was (sorry Lys!). So now I get to check out her blog and see how things are going for her and I absolutely love it. Another example, Ross's old missionary companion who he has been searching for forever came across the blog when searching for information about "The Office" random . . . and fantastic and now they are back in communicado. I will say this - I have been searching for my cousin's blogs and they finally found me - Hurray! although some of my cousins have made the decision to go private and have not "invited me." I think I'm going to have to give them a call and chew them out - or else take it as a personal offense that I wasn't invited. Anyway . . . don't worry - we won't be going private but also don't expect us to post our social security numbers or our addresses online.

KT--it sounds like you've made a decision based on a a lot of thought and soul searching. May you always be public.

I was a little upset when your sister went private. I hear so much about that lively bunch I was excited to be able to see their smiling faces, and then a big fat Private, you need a password. Sigh.

It has been a soul searching - heart wrenching decision. I only wish the Jones family would have come to the same conclusion. This continues to remain my wish.

Kitty won't go private because she is so desperate to be the center of attention. That's why she is always blogging and commenting and blog commenting. I only comment to feed her need for attention and to share my wisdom with the world. That's how unselfish I am.

Toddcat you know what you are . . . a BFJ! But on the other hand, thank you for feeding my crave for the spotlight. I was tempted to say, "I don't understnd the question and I won't respond" but let's face it, Ross is right (but not on the pot never boils question)- I am the Michael Scott of blogging - I love comments.

I am not a BJF. I am merely an enabler helping you intensify your addiction. The only thing that will help you now is an intervention (or interuption). I will even try ot get Mackenzie Philips from One Day at a Time to lead it just like she did for Dylan on Beverly Hills 90210. If she can't help you no one can.

I'd like to call it an imposition.

Can you explain the Curious George picture and how that all ties in?

Oh Kim - people are "curious" and hence we have come to the conclusion (after much thought and study) that we won't stop people's "curiousity" by making our blog private.

It's a bit of a stretch - but lets face it - I believe in posting with pictures.

Hmmm...well you know what curiosity did to the cat...

I'm glad you guys aren't private because I love keeping updated from a distance (although I would hope I could convince you to give me permission to view if you did go private)! We've made the decision to stay public as well because we have reconnected with so many people through blogging. Sometimes I feel bad for exploiting my children, but then again they are pretty fun to show off! :) Hope you guys are well!
