YEEEAAHHHH!! - I love # 22
I love that KT is a closet CSI:Miami junkie. Every one in a while I will find a few episodes on the DVR. In the glory days of Chicago when we had "on demand" through Comcast, I would occasionally wake up to a YEEEAAHHH! when a certain somebody couldn't sleep. In any case - this post at Fail Blog made me laugh. I think we have a new idea for a collage in the house.

Project Runway
Ross and I have some new no tv watching rules during the week . . . BUT we have two exceptions: (1) American Gladiators (because it is ridiculous) and (2) Project Runway. Last night's episode of PR was awesome and I must admit . . . I am really happy my husband will watch PR it makes it a lot more fun. Anyway - I don't want to ruin it if you haven't watched it yet but I just had to say one thing . . . Rami is IN LOVE with draping. IN LOVE with it! The only thing he can't drape is denim and that is not for lack of trying and Christian is in love with puffy sleeves and Chris LOVES to do that same dress (although let's face it, I love Chris) and Jillian always does very interesting things and then freaks out because she is so slow.I just had to get that 0ut.

The Return . . .
I admit it. Every Saturday morning I look forward to going to the gym so that I can watch American Gladiators while on the treadmill. I was thrilled that this was coming back to tv. I mean it really is awesome. Probably the most awesome thing about it? The names of the Gladiators - names like "Justice", "Stealth", "Wolf", "Militia" and "Mayhem." I am tempted to start calling Ross something like "Thor" just for the fun of it. If I was a Gladiator I think I would have my name be "Temptress" because that would be awesome . . . and ridiculous. Toddcat's name would be "Toddcat" (kind of like Thunder Cat from He-man).

Ross' TV Round-up
Just like my reading round-up showed readers what to read, I have to let everyone know about our current favorite TV shows. TV viewing has changed dramatically with the addition of two things in our lives: Netflix and a DVR. I could go on at length about why these tools have focused our TV viewing on just the good stuff, but after the "grass growing" comment, I will keep that to myself. Of course we love the Office, and will always love Arrested Development (and KT daily wishes she were Jessica Fletcher on Murder She Wrote), but we have started some new (if only to us) series that have been very good:
1) The Closer. Who knew this would be so good? We started watching this season (the 3rd) mostly because KT read it was good and we could record the episodes and watch them when convenient (see the DVR tie-in). I was surprised at not only the acting but the great stories in these episodes. So much so that we are watching the first two seasons through Netflix (tie-in # 2). Unlike the CSI type shows, I find myself really interested in the characters almost more than the stories. We fully recommend this series.
2) Heroes. Somehow we completely missed last season of Heroes. So with the new season approaching, we decided to Netflix the first and see what all the hype was about. Believe the hype, because we are now avid Heroes fans. Still only half way through season 1, but we can't seem to get the discs in the mail soon enough. Seeing the "To Be Continued . . . " is almost the same feeling as seeing 11:59:59 at the end of an episode of 24. We highly recommend Heroes.
3) Damages. The first episode of this F/X series(Tangent Alert: does anybody remember the movie F/X2? - just wondering) was so-so for me until near the end when the focus of the story suddenly become clear to me. I thought it was some lame-o lawyer show KT had wanted to check out (which is weird because she already lives lawyer drama by day). Turns out it is quite a gripping drama/mystery. We expect great acting from Glenn Close, but to get it from Ted Danson, really surprised me. Who knew? F/X apparrantly. Be warned that it is more gritty than your average tv drama, but worth a look.
