I suppose my first lesson as a mother should be that really - you can plan to do whatever you want - but sometimes it's just not going to work like you planned. Consider this mother's day to be lesson learned.
First off, I didn't get to sleep in - but look who did:
Our grand plans were dashed when Henry woke up with some wicked eye boogers (aka pink eye). Plans changed. Instead we took Henry to his first visit to instacare and decided that we better just hunker down. Greg and I tag-teamed church where I hurried on over to teach the R.S. lesson. All in all - it was fine . . . just different. Cest la vie.
However, I do have one real regret from this Mother's Day - and that is that I couldn't cart Henry around and show off his awesome new tat.
Here's a better pic - because let's face it, if this doesn't prove his love for me - I don't know what does:

Happy Mother's Day!
We love our mothers. However, because my mom (the Workhorse) is in China and not checking the blog and Ross's mom doesn't really ever check the blog we have decided to do a post dedicated to our favorite television mothers. I mean, after all, they have had as much influence on our life as our own mothers -if not more.Don't tell me you didn't just look at the picture of Elise Keaton and sing "sha-na-na-na" to yourself (or is it sha-la-la-la?). Any woman like Claire Huxtable who can be a successful attorney, raise five kids and have hair like that is a success. Who wouldn't want a mom like Samantha who can fix anything with the twinkle of her nose? And Carol Brady really can pull off a mullet like nobody's business. Of course, our favorite . . . Lucille Bluth, who reminds us that when she runs into flamboyant people it just makes her want to set herself on fire. A good lesson for any of us.

Welcome?

I am not sure about this but we are doing it anyway. A form of journal/diary/voyuerism. Oh well. Let's just dive in. Today is Mother's Day which when I was single was really just Girl's Day. Since I am not a mother I have strongly encouraged Ross to keep up the tradition of treating this as Girl's Day. He's done a good job. Yesterday he surprised me with a plant (flowers die--hence I prefer a plant). This morning he surprised me with a bike . . . with a basket! We've been shopping around for a bike for a bit and we found one I liked but we decided to "wait on it." Well Ross decided to take the plunge and wheeled it in this morning. Excellent job! We took our bikes out for a spin (it's finally warm enough) and I seriously looked like Jessica Fletcher sitting up straight and tall just plugging around town. It was awesome.
