Reading Round-up (6-1)
With the exception of "How Will You Measure Your Life?" none of these May books really hit it out of the park for me.
NurtureShock got looooong after awhile (Malcolm Gladwell's style of writing has started an avalanche of these types of books and depending on the subject can be good or bad). I did learn the importance of specific praise and to remind children how hard they work rather than complimenting them on their "smarts" but there were a couple of chapters that were roooough.
Stay Close was a fun noir novel - Greg and I listened to it while driving back and forth to St. George and then work. It is kind of the equivalent of book candy.
Fever 1793 - the neighborhood book club choice of the month. It wasn't my favor. The character was a little too plucky and resilient and then, of course, the love interest - oh don't get me started on that one.
The Brand Gap - an interesting (specifically graphically) depiction of branding. It, however, was too superficial, I finished reading it wanting more.
I feel like I'm in a little bit of a book rut. I'm craving a book that just doesn't let me put it down and right now - I'm coming up short.

I just felt like a little blogging this morning and here I am. :) LOVED How to Measure Your Life!!!! So much. I'm not sure if you're a non-fiction nut like myself, but I finished 'Killing Kennedy' not long ago and was fascinated; now I'm in 'Killing Lincoln' and liking it so far. I'm not a huge O'Reilly fan, but these two are so well-written, easy to read and interesting...just a thought for you. ;) So happy Henry is recovering; BOO for sick babies. :(
