a day in the life

This weekend I had every intention of documenting it. All of it. Not because it was a particularly awesome weekend but just for posterity's sake. I failed. But I am now going to post a compilation of things that happened and pretend as if this was all the same day (but really it is Saturday and Sunday and maybe, Monday morning). Because - why not? As the family historian - sometimes I choose to re-write history. So here goes.

We started off with a delicious green shake. That's right, Henry and I picked this straight from our garden and then I vita-mixed it up (along with some peaches - thanks Amy!), water, frozen berries, etc. etc. It really is like we are the Engall's family (I prefer to be Laura but NOT Mary but I guess I'm closer to being Caroline - oh heaven help me).

We then hustled on off to the REI garage sale where I managed to pick myself up some of these fancy numbers - I then wore them to church. That's right. I'm a rebel. And really - it took me 15 minutes to get them on which meant that I wasn't going to take them off.

Speaking of church. Henry had a little bit of a rough time - we ended up hanging out next door to Relief Society - perhaps I was hoping that I would get the message through osmosis.

Following up - Henry also had a poo-plosion. Good times. Hence, sometimes we just let him hang around in a diaper. A little trashy but this is real life stuff.

We ended the day with me and Henry going to Winco where we just enjoyed ourselves (I think he thought he was being helpful . . . He wasn't.)

Things not documented but still happened:
screened in upstairs porch (AWESOME)
Olympic watching
yard working
Murray Library run (oh I love that place)
clean house
Quirkle and Wits&Wagers playing

If that doesn't sound like the awesomest weekend in the world - I really don't know what does.

I love Henry helping in the grocery store. I am jealous of your shoes.

Getting out of class at church easily ranks in the top 20 reasons to have a baby. Our lesson on Sunday really had me thinking about having another one. I wasn't brave enough to wear shoes like yours, but I do go tieless hoping I get lumped in with the "is he really ready for that calling" or "maybe someone should send a cassorole over to the Chandlers" crowd. Strategery.

I'm still tired from that weekend! We got a lot done and will be enjoying that porch! So how long till Henry can just do all our work for us?

Oh, I don't miss poo plosions at all! But they make for good stories. It must be all that yummy vita-mix goodness. Every time my kids think about asking for even more juice, fruit or berry smoothie, they usually pause and say, "Never mind; I don't want diarrhea." Yeah, we talk about poop a lot over here. ;)

Henry is pretty lucky that his life is being documented at every turn. I am excited to come and stay for Ed. Wk.
