this is the post that I tell you how awesome I am

Sure, this is my first post in June. Whoops. Somehow I got a little behind. But instead of making excuses or trying to catch up I'm just going to tell you I'm awesome. Or at least everyone thinks so. You see, the other night we went on a family hike up to the Y and I proceeded to do this rather steep hike with Henry strapped to my chest . . . and I didn't stop once. Nope. I made a lot of kills and I never got killed. Holla! I guess this no flour no sugar thing is working. Although I will admit, there were two embarrassing things about this hike:

1) All of the "you go girl!" comments made by people on the trail when I passed them. I felt kind of stupid (and kind of awesome at the same time).

2) The sad look that people got on their face when they realized that someone was passing them - WITH a rather large baby strapped to her chest (seriously, when did Henry become a giant?) I didn't mean to make people feel bad but I also wasn't going to slow down. A catch-22.

And now for some pictures:

Lauren (who is staying with us while attending French camp) was busy talking on her phone at the top. You can't blame her - she is a teenager and she needed to figure out how to attend a New Directions contest in 14 months - obviously a pressing issue.

And I love this picture. So I'm putting it up. Because let's face it - it's cute.

And finally - obviously, hiking the Y wore Henry out. This is how he looked the next morning when it was time to "rise and shine":

That was a fun hike and I thought it was awesome how one women was so amazed that you did it, she just turned around and didn't even try. Nice work KT!

You have always had a lot of endurance but then you come from some strong stock.

Sounds like the next step in your training is to hike with 2 babies. If you see a stragler mom with a baby, just take it, throw it in your bjorn or whatever new age sling moms are using these days, and press on at your cardio frenzied pace.

It's not like it was Mt. Sinai. I'm waiting to be impressed until I see that you've taken that boy to the Holy Land. I'm in town, by the way. Want to hang out?

It is really a shame that we aren't neighbors. If only we could race to the top of Y mtn....you carting Henry vs. Drew & I. Super mommy--Game on! ha ha

Well, I for one, am super impressed. The hike to the Y is much steeper than I thought it would be. Would you believe I never hiked it until last year, and I've been here since 1991??? Would you also believe I NEVER plan to do it with a baby strapped to me? :)

Which category did Greg fall into when you passed him? Did he say "you go girl?" or did he have a sad face when he was eating your dust?

And, by the way, duh! Of course you're awesome. That goes without saying.
