"Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" is what I would consider my first "parenting" book. Poor Constantine I'm going to have to get him started in piano lessons this month.
Another classic from Gary D. Schmidt - "Wednesday Wars" - it was great. This month I'll be reading his book, "Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy" (thanks for the recommendation Rachel!)
"What Alice Forgot" - a little trite but at the same time I liked it.
"The Descendants" - oh goodness - so so so so sad and sweet at the same time. It makes me want to see the movie.

Oh brother! With your loose use of the word "read", watching The Defendants would be like reading it again. You'd probably count that as 2 of your 52 for the year.
Whenever I have a book on tape that counts as reading a book. That is how I read "The Boy in the STriped Pajamas" that was an incredible book.
Does seeing the movie count as reading the book twice? In my mind it does, thanks Todd. So far I will have read 6 books after this weekend is over. That is pretty good for me, one of the books has been the Book of Mormon. YEAH
Oh my...The Boy In The Striped Pajamas is one of the most beautiful/horrifying movies I have ever seen. I really ought to pick up a good book every once in awhile. From the girl who used to sleep with her Dad's briefcase full of library books when she was little. :) I need to find much more balance in my life before introducing "hard to put down" books. My kids would NEVER see me. Good going Kitty!
I've been a reading fool and I have to be careful. I think I could do it 16 hours a day, if I didn't have 'life' to attend to. Never tried listening to a book, but it TOTALLY COUNTS! :) Gary Schmidt and John Grisham have been 90% of the reading. By the way, did you just HAVE to choose Henry's blessing day during the weekend I would be gone????? ;) I'm certain it was a beautiful (and, hopefully, serious...Ross) occasion. I hope Henry behaved like a gentleman. He's so dreamy.
