we're back . . .

Just fyi - the title of this post is sponsored by that girl from Poltergeist.

Now that we are back from the vacation/conference (I have to throw in conference because it was, technically, a "work trip" even though there was a lot of fun that happened (but that fun didn't really happen while at the conference)) - there are a few things I would like to get off my chest:

1) I would love Love LOVE to screen in this beautiful/amazing upstairs porch.

Let's face it, living close to the lake the house will always have bugs and junk (I won't mention mosquitoes but just know - they are readily available) so screening in the porch will allow us to keep all the benefit and yet have none of that gross stuff. Unfortunately, we just got a bid back from a company last night where we were informed, to simply screen it in, it would cost us $10,241. Um this isn't the Taj Mahal. Anyone have any suggestions for us? I found this ad in skymall and am thinking that it is our next viable solution - it is kind of like a garage door. Really any thoughts? Anyone? Anyone?

2) I was at the bookstore this morning and I found this set-up. We can debate affordable but really there is no debating on the fashionable question. These aren't fashionable. They are plastic. There is a big difference.

3) This is probably not his best picture but let me just tell you. I love my nephew - even when he was driving in the car with me and Greg and told us that we were "booowing" (that's 2 1/2 year old speak for "boring").
I've decided to not take his opinion personally.

It's best we don't take anything personally from anyone under the age of 10. And over 10K???? Really? I think that garage screen thingie will work just fine. :) We could have a little 'screening' party once it's installed. That deck could comfortably host a dozen of us...just sayin'. :)

Nothing about nose hairs, jiggly arms flab, big fat bums, or boring-ness from 2-6 year olds can be taken seriously. I realize that rules out pretty much everything they talk about. :) 10k???? That seems like madness! Do we know anyone personally who could do it? OR we could all get bee-keeper costumes and have quite a get together on your deck!

I'd say those bags are the purse equivalent of Danskos, but that would be an insult to the bags.

Your nephew has a keen sense of observation. Lets ask him if you look as old as Abraham and Sarah.

If you give me $10,000 I'll come over and stand as a personal bug shield for you.

And how much do you love the 2 1/2 year old accent? It's about the cutest little kid accent on the planet.
