weekend recap

With September rapidly approaching - Greg and I agreed . . . we need to do better at making our blog more exciting. So we're going to start living our life for the blog. But because it is still August - I'm going to just give a simple (read boring) weekend recap:

1) Yesterday morning the farmer's cows discovered the gate was open. They thought it was a free-for-all. There we were - me in my nightgown - Greg in his basketball shorts- trying to herd them back in. (I can hardly wait until our fence is up). Finally, Greg went and got the farmer - after all, we aren't cowboys.

2) Our garden hasn't been a complete flop. We have some delicious tomatoes that taste like candy. Candy!

3) Me and my sister and three of her ladies went and had an over-nighter at grandma's house. We partied hard and watched a Hallmark movie starring Kelly Ripa's husband. It was excellent. After we left there was a few hours of panic while my 90-year old Grandma couldn't find the remote. But after getting on her hands and knees (TWICE!) it was discovered. Yay!

4) Fall semester begins. The hipsters (read - boys in skinny jeans) are back. It was a great summer. And because every post needs a picture - here is one that Greg took at havasupai.

5) And one more thing - we have a new niece! Samantha Ruth. I would post a picture but I have only seen pictures on other people's cell phones. But trust me, she is beautiful. Charlotte and Ezra are WAY excited and Cory and Haylee have three kids with the oldest being 3 years old. That's crazy and way awesome all at the same time.

Maybe we should be ranchers - that cattle wrangling was awesome!I have never been so alive in my life.

Ross, just imagine how awesome it would be if you got some chickens and could enjoy farm fresh eggs for breakfast every morning.

Whoah--what will this blog be like when you start living your life for it? Can't wait.

Did you have to borrow that nightgown from your Grandma? Do you own a nightgown yourself? I'd like to hear more about this.

I, for one, would like to see a picture of you two trying to herd the cows. That would really spice up the blog.
