i'm thirteen again

You know it is bad when your tween niece (soon to be a real teen next month) applies makeup better than you do. Case in point - I love the look of liquid eyeliner because it appears as if you don't even have your eyes lined - instead you look wide awake and your eyes stand out without looking weird.

Like here:

Let me be clear - I don't love Miley Cyrus but she does have good au natural eye makeup.

The problem, however, is that when I use liquid eyeliner my eyes look more like this:

Any tips would be appreciated (e.g. Kristal-Meth).

P.S. I know it is the blog-iversary but I really can't find any posts that need to be repeated. They are all just so timely and so fantastic. Perhaps Toddcat will have some suggestions. In the meantime, I'll continue to be concerned about my makeup.

Kitty, if you think Miley's eyes look au natural coated in mascara and eye liner then maybe your real issue is that you need some glasses. Perhaps you should ask "why do I need makeup to feel good about myself?" Heidi Montag wasn't happy with her appearance and look what happened to her...she went under the knife and came out looking like a 35-year-old drag queen. Don't be like her, Kitty. DON'T!!

PS- I would like to revisit the inagural blog post that started it all...and I think you know why.

I just recently discovered liquid eye liner as well, and I felt 13 but was too bashful to admit it. Glad you are putting it out there. The MAC counter sells my favorite. If you are willing to shell out the $16. Which I am usually not, that is why right now I am dealing with the mayblene fake stuff.

P.S Todd, after all this time with Kitty you really are not showing that you know her at all. I would like to revisit the mascara post.

Here's the skinny: I use the mac one, but would definitely switch to the maybelline if it's ok -- Shana, what do you think of it? Here's a decent tutorial (start at 9:26) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSc9r4tzWyk&feature=related Disregard the cat eye part (unless that's what floats your boat, of course.)

Who is this Toddcat fellow? I'd like to see a post about that. Sometimes I cannot help but wonder if you've got a reverse polygamy thing going up north. Does he live with you? Tell me all about it. Apparently I'm the only one who is in the dark on this score.
