tis the season

Some of you may not know this or might be surprised to find this out but the holidays and I are not friends. In fact, I can be a bit of a Grinch or a Grouch. Case in point - we went to China during Christmas - where on Christmas day I think we were hiking around at the Great Wall and drinking starbucks hot chocolate. It was probably my favorite Christmas. Ever. The trouble is Ross LOVES the holidays - being in China on Christmas was probably his worst Christmas ever.

In an effort to cross this great divide this year we are going to try to actually embrace all of December. That's right, ALL of it - which means that the fun doesn't stop on December 25th. I told Toddcat our plan and he swore that he thought it would be impossible for us to follow our schedule of December Delightfulness. Well - I'm going to show him. Some of our plans for each day are small and some are big - but we're going to do it. I'll do my best to document this (not to be boastful just to show the Toddcat). So here we go:

December 1st - we built this amazing art installation while listening to random Christmas music - who knew Kanye West had a Christmas song?

December 2nd - watch a Holiday movie - we chose to watch "Rent." After watching this movie, however, we realized that this probably was not the traditional choice to get December started off. Although I keep singing 525,600 minutes in my head and it does start and end during Christmastime. Here's a picture of Ross relaxing while watching the movie (I didn't say all documentation was going to be awesome).

We really do have something planned for everyday. We can be flexible - but you know - I'm trying to work on taking the Grinch out of Christmas.

I'm so confused. Why don't you like Christmas?

I think it would help you enjoy the holiday more if everyone started calling your Kristmas Tina. You'd also probably enjoy Christmas a lot more if Ross got you that Red Ryder BB gun you've always wanted.
