So I've decided to better chronicle the differences that I am facing now that Ross is forcing me to live "on a budget." He tries and paints it as a picture of "making our money work for us instead of us working for our money" but all I know is that I pass by every store right now and sigh. I'm not a spender - I just am now looking at things differently . . . and with every purchase I think "what category does this come out of?"
Anyway. Living on a budget means all of the sudden I'm in the depression and I must make do or do without. And for some reason I feel like I can't spend any money. Any. Money. (the periods between each word is meant to emphasize - I'm hip like that). Living on a budget also means that with it being zucchini season - I refuse to let anything go to waste. So last night I doubled the recipe and made tons of this:
Living on a budget means I'm also making all my gifts. This simply translates into convincing Ross that more money should be allocated to the "yarn fund" (yes, we have a category for this). To justify this fund I made this:
It looks a little skiwampus - but on my nephew, Ezra's large noggin, I think it will fit just right. (Also it is made in beloved Murray High School colors - because Ezra's dad will and always be a Spartan). P.S. Look forward to the awesome cowboy boot(ies) that are being made. Spectacular September is in full swing.
I just re-read this post. Sorry. I'll do better next time.

Ohh you out shined me again on the gift giving! If only I had your talent.
Oooohhhh, those look like bundt cakes. Maybe you could sell baked goods on campus to make some extra cash for food or yarn.
Let's just go back to calling this month September, because spectacular it is not. We can always hope for a Neat-O November. (I couldn't think of a word to go with October so you can skip trying next month.)
Those cakes look gooooooooood. I'm hungry for lunch and it's 9:16 am.
So will Ross let you buy more yarn if you have someone offer to pay you for some winter hats? I'm needing a couple for the girls and can never find anything as cute as the ones you make.
