time to start getting real

This morning, for some reason, I just am reminded of how frivolous and silly our little family blog is. Now for our faithful three readers - don't worry - that won't change - but today there is something in my heart that reminds me that this really isn't real. This weekend I looked at the beautiful post of nie nie where she shared with everyone the changes that she will always have with her because of her tragic airplane ride. Me, being a completely vain and selfish person in so many ways, was just humbled. Then, this morning I read the sweetest post by my sister about her oldest starting junior high. Both of these posts were so sweet and so real. While I'm busy blogging about how we lost a silly netflix movie these people are really exposing themselves emotionally and spiritually for the world to see. I sometimes think I wear things too close to the vest. But I don't think that my introverted self can change that anytime soon. I guess what I'm trying to say is that although I can't quite let go and expose myself like that - I appreciate those who do.

Enough of this - watch this link - you won't regret it. http://www.pampers.co.uk/en_GB/video/babyseyes.jsp
UPDATE: Pampers has taken the video down, so try it at the YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHttp9QOsKg

And happy birthday to faithful friend and commenter Toddcat. In the words of Truvy, "time marches on and eventually you realize that it is marchin' across your face." (But not me - because I slather myself with moisturizer morning and night).

P.S. We rented "Obsessed" from redbox last night (we wanted to see the movie that we had just purchased from netflix) - if that movie doesn't win best picture I don't know what will.

Kris Tina - I know that by commenting I am admitting my blog stalking ways, but that video clip was hilarious! Thanks for sharing.

Oh my goodness. I haven't laughed like that ever. Well maybe once when dad tried to get Jon to look for that bike on the crank call. But other than that--oh my goodness. Happy birthday Todd. Thanks for the Nie Nie link. I feel so introverted that I spent the morning trying on clothes for my high school reunion.

Oh man, you totally caught me off guard with that video.

Don't change your blog style. The world needs all kinds of bloggers. Ones that talk endlessly about kids' milestones and frivolous projects like me, ones that get all deep and philosophical and make the world a better place by blogging about their warm fuzzies, and then there is hip, funny, and oh so real, you.

Love you!!!

Kitty, thanks so much for the shout out and cruel words. You remind me of Ouiser more and more every day. Despite what everyone else says I don't think you are crazy. You've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years.

As Shelby would say, this morning I think Todd discovered the early stages of crows feet.

I love your blog. So there.

...and crow's feet don't go with either one of my signature colors. I wonder if Aunt Fern could make me a groom's cake in the shape of crow's feet. She can do almost anything....except snakes. She doesn't have the counter space.

I read your blog faithfully and I love that it is the REAL KrisTina! The one I knew and loved anyway :) I can hear your voice, tone, expression and all in each post and I love it. Don't change a thing!
I haven't seen the video yet but I will right NOW....

The link doesn't work anymore, but I had to find the video, so after a few minutes of searching, I found it on YouTube:
