a pseudo tag and a CONTEST

I normally don't do tags. Ever. After all, when the top 25 things about yourself on Facebook seemed to be a virus and everyone was doing it Ross posted his Facebook status as being "5 things is more than plenty to ever list about yourself," or something like that. So I guess I'm blaming Ross for the fact that I am often leery of tags. Leery, yet I always read my friends' tags. Always. And I find them enjoyable.

With that introduction aside - I responded to my friend, Steph's tag post. The tag of answering some "interview questions" seemed a bit more personal so maybe that is why I am being courageous and will answer it (and also - let's face it - our blog posts have been in a rut for a bit so it can't hurt to try something new). So here goes:

In 6 words describe yourself:

Coolest girl in the world-AWESOME (I once wore these words as a sash - like a Miss America sash - it was quite charming - and it was also quite recent).

You just had a big move (Chicago to Provo). What do you miss most about the city and what do you love the most about Provo?

Lately (now that Chicago isn't so cold) we are quite homesick for the town. We miss the food, our loft, and most important of all, our friends. But we're coming to visit in May - the first of many visits. And we are hopeful that Shadam will have their baby by then, that it will be warmer than 30 degrees and that Oliver will remember us (mainly me).

The best thing about Provo? Our jobs. We love them. Even when we are doing stuff that we don't love - we still love our jobs. It was a trade-off and we continue to adjust but the move was right for us.

Where did I get my wonderful sense of humor? (Thanks for the compliment)

I would say a lot of hard work. It helps to have friends like the Toddcat who say things to you that will make you either laugh or cry. I choose to laugh - but not always. . . and that's what therapy is for.

You and Greg seem to be a match made in heaven with nonstop FUN. What is your favorite quality about Greg and what is the one "little" thing that drives you nuts?

I don't know if I would say we are a match made in heaven. After all, there are times where I just have to tell him, "I need some alone time." But he gives it to me and most importantly, doesn't take offense. Just one of my weird quirks. Oh back to the question - my favorite quality about Mr. Ross? There are a lot but I love that he just lets me be me -even when I am a jerk. He doesn't judge. The thing that drives me nuts? He will spend HOURS upon HOURS upon HOURS organizing his iTunes collection. He just recently went through his whole music collection to put images of the album cover with the appropriate song. I consider this a HUGE waste of time. And I let him know this. In a kind, nice, wifely way, of course.

You are just about the most talented and creative person I know. What inspires you? (again, thanks for the compliment).

I saved this question for the end - so if you are still reading this - you are a true friend. Usually I get inspired by my nieces and nephews, need, and the fact that it is fun to do. However, lately I just haven't felt too inspired . . . so I thought I would close this "post" with a contest. Leave a comment and I'll randomly pick someone and make something "special" for you (Jill and John Norman this includes you two!). You can even leave a request of what you'd like and I'll consider it. Unfortunately for some - yes, it will likely be made out of yarn (my sister isn't in to my wares).

There are times that I think you and Bill were separated at birth (I leave you to ponder that one...)

Did you get the idea for a contest from Tom and Lorenzo (aka Project Rungay)??

I loved the tag questions. You make me laugh so much everytime I read your blog. Thank you so much for that! Aria could probably use something cute and crafty. By the way, I am in Project Runway withdrawals so I started watching Project Runway Canada (Season 2) on You Tube last night. The first episode was high drama indeed and Iman hosts it. Pretty Great, eh?

This was a very bloggie-post. Tags. Contests. I'm pseudo-entering the contest though, because really, you need to teach me to fish instead of just giving me a fish (which, of course, would be awesome just like you).

Umm...and it is UNREAL what you said about Greg because Mr. Mott just spent the past couple of weeks going through and organizing ALL his mp3s. And now he's going to start re-ripping our cds at a higher quality or something. Such a coincidence.

Kitty, I would like to thank you for publicly acknowledging me as the inspiration for your hilarity. Why, I don’t think a funnier pair has graced the world with such high brow entertainment since JoAnn Worley and Charles Nelson Reilly co-starred on the hit TV game show Match Game.

oh the baby will be here and be ready to be babysat.

This was an excellent tag I feel that I know you much better now, and really am intrigued by Greg's i-tunes list. I mean it better be pretty awesome. Chicago misses you too. I can speak for all of us that your 6 words are quite accurate that is why we miss you.

I feel I should speak up regarding the question about you and Ross being a match made in heaven. It seems only fair that I take full credit for this one too seeing as I consider myself to be your top notch marriage counselor. After all, I did chaperone the two of you on what was pretty much your honeymoon. Imagine how different things would have turned out if I wasn’t there to intervene at every turn for those 11 days in Spain during. I’m sure not a day goes by that you aren’t grateful for what I’ve done to save your marriage.

hahaha - this is the coolest contest i have ever entered :-)

I am appalled at how many people are commenting on here begging…just BEGGING…for your homemade handicrafts. I don’t know if it is because of the tough economic times we are in or old fashioned greed making them do it, but it makes me sick. Also, I am a size medium if you would need to know that for any reason.

Okay so now you are just like those Mormon craft blogs you were talking about. Who says I don't like your wares? I just wiped down my counters with your Halloween dishrag not 5 minutes ago and it brought me a great deal of joy. If I win, I'd like more dish rags please in various rainbow colors.

I like you and the stuff you make with yarn. All around awesome.

Since the chance of winning a handmade creation by you is just too enticing, I'll finally comment, although you know I'm a faithful reader of your blog. John says that he wants a copy of your blog bound as a book. I think he wants it more now that he has been named specifically in a post. Oh, if I win I want a cute hat - maybe one of those cupcake ones - for Ellie.

Oh Krissi, I think you should make a cupcake hat for Ellie. Forget about the dish rags. I like what you said about Greg in your interview. I would love it if he would come over and help me organize my i tunes. I too like your blog, but any person who wants your blog bound into a book probably deserves to win.

I just want a chance to win my Steve Zizou hat.

Pick me, pick me! I almost refrained from commenting when I saw that there were 19 people in line ahead of me. Then I realized that half of the comments were Todd's, so maybe there's still a chance.

Anonymous said...

Well the joke's on you Abby because my name goes in the drawing hat for each comment I make. If I don't win with these odd then I know this contest is rigged.

Alissa said...

i was definitely still reading by the end. i can't wait to see you in May!

and i want baby booties. some day i'll have a kid to put them in and i won't know how to make them! pick me.

Not only does Oliver remember you, he actually read this post and asked for a larger-sized monster hat.

Hey, T. I just wanted to read how awesome you are. And, well, if I win a yarn craft, I just consider it a perk.

Did you know a knitted cap is called a "tuque" in Canada? Check it out on wikipedia. Todd served his mission up north, so now we don't settle for bland American language for headgear like you are famous for making. I figured if this word isn't already in your vocabulary, then it sure needs its day in the sun.
