Man skirt?

Spotted on campus: A male student wearing a skirt like the one pictured to the right. He was strutting like a peacock in this thing. I think it was a kilt, but it really just looked like a pleated skirt with cargo pockets on the side. I'm not sure what the B-Y's dress code says about kilts - especially when they are chinos. I do know he was loving the attention he was drawing from his "rebellious" attire.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if this could be the new man-pri for 20
09, in which case I will be looking for one ASAP. I did find a company called Utilikilts that sells non-plaid kilts for every day wear/work wear. Plus, when you wear a man-skirt, you are really saying that you are either an updated and macho Braveheart type, or you are in some sort of awesome band just like Billy Corgan (left). Who can blame a dude for wanting a little man-pri variation?

So what's your vote on the man-skirt/utilikilt? Awesome new trend, or ridiculous plea for attention?

Over my dead body will you be purchasing that. Sure, our kind of first date you went wearing a kilt but that is because it was a scottish event. P.S. I think it is creepy that you always choose to use Billy Corgan when you play Guitar Hero - he is creepy and we all know he was the boy from "Small Wonder."

I was thinking a utilikilt is pretty much the best $150 I could spend this year. It really is an investment. I choose to play BC because he is the rock. Sure he is wearing a skirt, but that's just a bonus in the game. Besides, as soon as I earn enough cash, I will be able to unlock the nuge and play as him. I love that game - we need to play this weekend, now that the drums are back.

1) Greg, I was afraid you were going to set this to a vote. Seriously, I think this is an issue where you should not go all democratic, because I think you will find very, very little support.

2) HE'S the boy from Small Wonder?!?!

3) Yay! Drums are back!!

Ross, I did not condone the man-pris, but I will support your skirt wearing 100%. You really will be making a powerful statement. I'm not sure that the khaki kilt is the most flattering for you. What about a denim mini-skirt?

Kitty says you can't buy a man-skirt, but I think that is just her way of suggesting that she would like to knit you one. Her macramé skirts will be all the rage.

I will not knit a skirt for my husband. Nor will I be seen in public if he ever chooses to wear such an item. But I will knit him a hat of his choosing - oh wait I did that already and he "lost" it. Code word for - I don't like it.

Just to set the record straight, the part of Jamie Lawson was NOT played by Billy Corgan, but rather by Jerry Supiran. This is a common rumor, but a false one.

Also, I would love a knit hat.

I'd love to find out what BYU says about a man-skirt. I'm not a fan of the man-pri either!

Thanks to today's blogging, I'm laughing so hard that I'm crying in my office...people are going to think I was just fired or something...

Wow, Kitty. I thought you were the type of wife who would support her husband, but I guess I was wrong. I'm just sorry Ross had to find out this way.

Who played the nosey little neighbor girl on Small Wonder and what is she up to now? Everyone is dying to know.

Harriet Brindle was played by Emily Schulman. Emily began a career shift away from the cameras at age 17. Accumulating experience while working at talent agencies in both New York and Los Angeles, she quickly became a highly respected figure in the commercial industry. In 2008, after 13 years as the head of Acme Talent & Literary's Commercial Division, Emily relocated her department to its current home at Talentworks. Schulman married Derek Webster in 2002. They have two young daughters, Lasarina & Maev.

I hope that helps Todd.

It helps things a lot. Thanks Ross.

So, what if I like that skirt and I want to wear it? I could seriously use a cute utility skirt just like that.

You just need a man-purse to go with it.

I already have the man-purse. It is very nice.

I am glad to see that you have put your foot down, Krissy. Small Wonder Rock Star or not, the Man-Skirt is just not a trend we need to support, let alone help to start! And Greg, I think you should seriously reconsider whether ToddCat is REALLY your friend... Last I checked, Dudes don't let Dudes wear skirts! (Not even Utili-kilts!)

Sara, I tried to stop Ross from wearing the man-pris and when that didn't work I decided to support any ridiculous wardrobe idea he came up with in hopes that it will lead to some interesting blog post photos.
