I need to do a post - simply so I no longer am required to look at Ross in that festive sweater. Here are a few things that have been on my mind:
1) Why oh why oh why is it impossible to sing Christmas songs during Relief Society? I understand that singing hymns such as "put your shoulder to the wheel" and "onward christian soldiers" really goes along with the lesson - but not one Christmas hymn? Not one? On the Sunday before Christmas? Ridiculous. It was enough to make me throw in the towel yesterday.
2) We have received quite a few Christmas cards this year - we were worried that with the address change we would be toast. Thank goodness - it seems as if we sent our cards early enough to get some in return. I have noticed, however, a troubling theme. That is, that many Christmas cards are no longer arriving with the obligatory letter proclaiming how this has been the most amazing, successful year ever. I refuse to support this trend - as you can see (or if you haven't received our card yet - particularly Chicagoans because Chicago has the slowest mail system in the history of the universe) you shall soon see - I don't support this trend. At all. I like the letters. I like feeling like I know what is going on in people's life - even if I never see them in person.
3) House hunting. I hate it. We hate it. We found a house but unfortunately the sellers seem to think that we should pay full price. In this market. We thought otherwise. Back to the drawing board. Needless to say, we are a little discouraged. Especially because - let's face it - a lot of houses are not going on the market right now (unless they are under foreclosure) and the ones under foreclosure - the people have trashed them so much that it is hard to get a vision for its potential. If anyone has any suggestions, we'd love to hear them - we're starting to get desperate.

Suggestion: Move to Daybreak in a brand new house, next to your good 'ole friends!!! : )
I couldn't agree more! The only thing worse than no Christmas hymns at Christmas time would be crappy hymns at all! "Put your shoulder to the wheel"? come on!
Also I think you need to call Josh about your home search. He could probably make this whole process a little less painful for you. Let me know if you want his number.
I couldn't get my Christmas letter together this year but I do agree with you on that. I loved your card! we laughed our heads off-- you are as funny and witty as ever!!
Oh here's our Christmas letter--this year has been the most successful and awesome year ever!
I hope that you are considering buying a house for us as well. It's the Holiday season.
I seriously feel embarrassed a little bit that I did do a Christmas letter because no one else did one. Maybe next year I'll just write one and send it to you.
KT--I miss you & wish we could do lunch. That would be better than a Christmas letter any day! Even if lunch was at the CougarEat....
Still, I am relieved that I did include a letter with our holiday photo...PHEW! I would hate to end up on your hit list. Regarding OUR written update....it was touch & go on that score....and I was sorely tempted to abandon the process several times, especially after reading YOUR letter, as who else's could possibly measure up?
Incidentally, thanks for the best mail of the season. In reference to whether seven really did eat nine.....have you heard the Barenaked Ladies song "7 8 9" off the their album "Snacktime!"? It is splendid!
I wasn't sure you'd delved into the world of childrens' music yet. So, do take a moment and look up that tune if it hasn't already made your ipod selections. It'll make your day...and take you back to good ol' 1985. Merry Xmas!
