You know how a lot of people say - you should be grateful for your "trials" because those are the things that make you stronger? I thought I would try it:

1) I'm grateful for zits. No, no I'm not, but maybe if I say it I will realize that these pesky things give me character. Except nope, this isn't working. I'm not grateful for zits. Ever. I don't get them often but when I do - I feel like I am a cursed woman - and right now - I'm cursed.

2) I'm grateful for my Thomas Kinkade mouse pad. Everyday at work I can look at this mousepad and be reminded that there is good art and then there is bad art. Very bad art.

3) I'm grateful that our dream house really isn't our dream house. We found (what what we thought) to be the perfect place. On closer inspection we realized that while the floorplan is probably the most perfect thing ever - the construction and all the finishings are all pure crap. Back to the drawing board - and back to my parent's basement. So I'm grateful that we are having a really difficult time finding anything we really like.

4) I'm grateful today is Wednesday. Nope. Again not working. I wish it were Friday.

I'd like to see the person that can be grateful for zits -- in the moment or after. They are a curse.
But I am grateful for your Thomas Kinkade mouse pad and for the deep sense of satisfaction it gives me to picture you staring down at it day after day -- it's an especially comforting thought when you are smashing me at scrabble. (Hey, Ross, Christmas suggestion: I bet the bookstore has a whole collection of Thomas Kinkade mouse pads (and drink koozies and thank you cards and probably something etched in glass). Just think of all the colorful, cozy, fuzzily-romantic options you have.)

Sorry to hear about the house! At least now you get to spend more and more time looking, and that is practically a romantic date. Just think, if the house had worked out you could technically not have to talk to each other again. That's no way to treat a marriage.

Vanity Fair did a piece on Thomas Kincades 16 guidelines for making stuff suck.

I am greatful for this blog post because through it I have learned that there is a Thomas Kincade film on video that will make a great stocking stuffer for someone this Christmas...unless Ross already got if for her.

Um, grossly enough, I am sort of thankful for zits because I weirdly enjoy popping them. Too much information?? Oh well- too late.
