Today I'm grateful for Thursday night television. Not just all Thursday night tv. NO. Specifically, "the office" and "30 rock". Last night Oprah's appearance on "30 Rock" was hilarious. Sure, I was forced to watch it alone in my parent's bedroom as everyone else insisted on watching the U/TCU game (even though I CALLED the big screen. I CALLED IT!). Oh well. It was still really, really, really funny. And if taffy from Rhode Island, paisley, and sweater capes are on Oprah's favorite thing list - that will make me laugh even more.
I'm starting to worry that my gratitude list seems a little shallow.

Oh man I am so sorry that even though you called the big screen your family COMPLETELY disregarded the rules of common courtesy and took it anyways!
TV really was funny last night. I'm grateful that we still have an old VCR that we can record TV shows on. It makes for a wonderful before bed treat. We don't have DVR, clearly.
We also don't have a DVR and watched the office via that amazing internet at 8am this morning. And it was refreshingly funny.
There is never any shame in being grateful, being grateful and shallow is an oxymoron. (Shaniqua and I had a long conversation about oxymorons on Wed night, it is still making me chuckle)
Did you call the TV in your head or out loud? I did tear myself away from the game to watch the Office, but had to go watch the game again for 30Rock.
As for the shallowness, I think you are just showing us how sometimes the little things in life can make a big difference. Besides, how many times can you say that you are thankful for your awesome, caring, handsome, thoughtful, intelligent, funny husband before people start throwing up a little in their mouths (that one was for you, C). I personally salute your salute to the little things that make your life (and mine by the transitive principle) much better.
I must agree with Ross--appreciating the small things in life that make you happy is only the attitude of gratitude that we have been hearing about since first grade. Keep up the good work!
Also, I HATE throwing up, so I think you should keep the love sap to a minimum.
Amen and amen. Both favorites. Good thing Mr. Mott and I caught up on 2 seasons of 30 Rock the 2 months before this season's premiere. I don't know if I've ever laughed more in a two-month period in all my life. How could I not be grateful for something that makes me laugh so much?
Your posts are not shallow--they are enlightening. What on earth is 30 Rock? It's like a little flashlight shining in the box I live in. GREG--I think that with the college degrees you and Krissi own, you can think of new and various ways to express the "tuimm" sentiment. I believe in you. BTW I call the big screen over Thanksgiving. There's a High School Musical holiday marathon we don't want to miss.
Oh Carrie, Greg called it ages ago - there's about 200 football games that he is planning on watching.
I literally can not express in words my true love and feelings for 30 Rock . . . we love it-
So
Much!
And the office, too, of course
Thursday night TV will always be the best. We thought it was over with the Cosby show, then came Friends. We thought it was over when Friends ended, then came the Office....
