It's his SPECIAL day!

Today it's Greg's b-day - he is turning Larry Bird. It's amazing how he keeps aging while I remain my same young self - and no, I am not Dorian Gray I just don't age (or at least refuse to accept the fact that maybe I do). But really - this is not about me this is about Greg. In honor of his special day I have composed the following "ode"
5 Things that Greg is crappy at:
1) Dancing. My last semester of law school we took the BYU social dance class - it wasn't pretty.
2) Smelling. Our "foyer" consistently smells but Greg doesn't smell it - I don't know how it's possible but he is completely oblivious to it.
3) Movie Reviews. Greg LOVES to give movies the benefit of the doubt- even if the movie is lamer than lame . Greg will find something good about it and then recommend it to everyone. Consider yourself warned.
4) U-turns. If we miss a turn Greg will just keep driving, justifying it by saying, "Well we are still going in the right direction." Um no, we missed the turn - we aren't - and five miles later - he'll agree with me.
5) Falling asleep. Greg has a difficult time falling asleep - to combat this problem his nightstand consists of the following items: ipod (for easy listening), netflix, crossword puzzles, books, and his trusty headlamp so he doesn't disrupt my beauty sleep.

5 things Greg is awesome at:
1) Tours. Come visit us and you'll get a Chicago city tour for free- he'll answer all your questions and provide you with more information than you ever wanted regarding our fair city, its architecture and history (he reads up on it to be prepared).
2) Being a sherpa. Greg loves to carry around my things for me - I mean he always does it so he must.
3) Making gourmet sandwiches. It really makes dinner a delight when Greg's favorite food is a sandwich - but when he makes it - it's a "Gregwich".
4) Packing/Organizing. Our closets are awesomely organized because Greg treats it as a tetris game - I really should take a picture of his handy-work.
5) Eating. Praise Greg and his industrial strength stomach - leftovers get eaten in this house because of him.

I should now probably say all of the really amazing things that make him so awesome but I won't - just take my word for it - if you know him - you like him - you kind of can't help yourself - bad movie reviews and all.

Happy birthday! We think you're pretty great too. Hopefully you are recommending The Pacifier to someone right now. KT is soooooo critical of that movie, it makes me want to light myself on fire.

We are wiring you 5,000,000 pound sterling right away. All you need to do is reply with your full name, bank account number, SSN, shoe size, blood type, and mother's maiden name. The sooner you get us the info the sooner you'll get your money.

Oh, KT, I am surprised that you made no mention of his oh-so fabulous-electrical-wiring "skillz"! (Although I am not exactly sure... well, okay, I AM pretty sure... which list you would put that on!)

AND, I am dying to know if you got the Star Wars sheets?

Happy Birthday to a wonderful person. We love you and think you are perfect. It is so great to have you in our family.

Ross, Kitty forgot two important items from her tribute lists. Another thing you are terrible at is thinking you know a short-cut to the airport when it later turns out that you had no idea what you were talking about and the person who you were supposed to be dropping off completely misses his flight. And for something you are great at...tuning out the facinating conversations between Kitty and the ToddCat. I don;t know anyone else who would want to miss a second of interesting discussion between these two knowledgeable people.

Hope you had a great birthday!!!

I'm afraid due to a mix-up between me and the workhorse the Star Wars sheets have not been provided to the birthday boy. But um I suppose I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and purchase them -but so help me if I have to sleep on them. So help me.

YO G! Happy Day of birth!

Runk and I were actually trying to remember one of your Greg-isms the other day. We never did settle on the exact wording, but the gist of it was "Do the same stupid thing three times, and it means your retarded"... wise words my friend, wise words.

"The average cost of a wide release is about $65 million" ... and while I can't find the quote I recall hearing that the average Hollywood movie credits over 100 people. That said, I (like G) will always give movies the benefit of the doubt.

Happy Birthday man!

This might be a day late--but Happy Birthday! You are a most excellent Brother-In-Law or BFAM. I am celebrating today by drinking a Mexican Coke in your honor. Rock steady, muchacho!

This b-day wish is a day late, but better late than never. We gave you a phone call and now I get to post a note. Thank you for being such a great person and putting up with all the Carlston's (there is a lot of us)

I am confused about the sheets, I relly thought I was not supposed to get them, so if you want them go buy them with the money we sent. Sorry if I got the message wrong.

Have a great one, and thanks for being that guy that can fit into any situation comfortably.

How fun to see you on line, Kris Tina! Also, nice to hear about your husband, who I don't know from Adam, but who sounds like a winner. So happy birthday to you Greg!

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to squeeze in a late birthday wish before you move on to another brilliant post. By the way, July is a fabulous month to be born; I should know:) Take Care.
