Finally

Ross's great love begins tonight. He's been sleeping with his mitt under his pillow all winter. In an effort to get you (alright, me) excited for all these games here is a collage of the man in action. The middle pic? Well, it's Ross showing off the dirt from his famous "Pete Rose" slide. Even my dad was impressed with that one.

Ross is not far removed from my boys. We might be cheering on the same fields if Ross still lived in good 'ol PG- that is where we play. Baseball signups are underway for us, but they don't play until June. It must be warming up.

I have to say thank you to you and all your witty friends that post. I am sitting at my parents'-laptop on lap- and laughing out loud at old posts. I don't know all of you personally- but "thank you" for bringing a little happiness into my evening of watching my parents work a crossword puzzle.

Kitty, did you finally sign Ross up for T-ball? It will be good for him to learn to be a team player and develop some coordination skills. They grow up so fast, don't they?

Courtney, I know exactly how you feel regarding the parental issue. My parents are visiting me most of this week. I am upstairs working in the home office this morning and I can hear my parents downstairs trying to figure out a new camera they got. I say new, but it uses film. I don't even know where you'd find a camera that needs film. They have been debating for the last 15 minutes how you know if the flash is turned off.

I have been an eye-witness to the famous Pete Rose slide and it is pretty impressive. Softball in Chicago -- that has to be a softball fanatic's dream. Almost like playing in Central Park, right? Anyway. congratulations, Ross, on the start of softball season and I hope for your sake (and KTC's) that all your games fall on dry, low-humidity days.

Todd, if you were a good son, you would buy your parents a digital camera to help them move from the dark-ages of film into the digital englightenment. It seems a little selfish to let them fumble around with film just so you can feel superior.

Abby, you clearly have never met my parents. If you had you would realize that they PREFER to life as if it is perpetually 1978. They have no desire to have a digital camera. Believe me, I pushed for that, but it seems that is too technical and confusing for them. They also still have a single phone in the house, with one of those curly cords no less. It would still be rotary if the phone company hadn't forced them to change to touch tone. My brother is even living in the past because he seems to think that it is still 1984 with his mustache and hair parted in the middle. I promise you that I am not kidding about any of this. The holidays are like a time warp for me.

Toddcat - why don't you just let everyone know how your brother once took a bath in deer #1 - just so he could improve his hunting stats.

He didn't bath in it, you moron, but he did attempt to "heat some up" to take on a hunting trip. He ended up melting the container, ruinning one of his wife's favorite pans (even though he thought it would be fine to use again) and stink up the whole house with boiled over doe-in-heat urine, which apparently smells worse than a skunk. Yes, this is a classic story that describes my brother to a T. Sometimes I think I was left on the doorstep by Gypsies and adopted.

Oh man Ross, I hope that your skillz are sharp as even this softball season.

KT--enjoy the games!
