The Peach Pit

Normally we affectionately call our house, "The Money Pit" but I'm afraid right now I've started something that can't be undone - I've started painting the peach pipes in our house silver. Why in the world would anyone ever paint these pipes peach? So far I have almost finished the bedroom pipes but um there is still a house full to go. Thus I have decided to invite everyone over to. . . The Peach Pipe Painting Party! I mean it will be fun - music, laughter, pizza - good times for everyone! Here is a before and after picture to get you excited.

Sincerely,

Tom Sawyer

I can't believe you are painting over the peach. Next to blush and bashful, peach is my favorite color.

I should have known you'd like blush and bashful! You've chosen two shades of pink, one is MUCH deeper than the other. Pink carpet laid out especially for your service and pink silk bunting draped over anything that will sit still, right? I knew it.

KT, as much as peach is a lovey color for a tender juicy peach, it should never been seen in the real world. I applaud your dedication to eradicating it!

Well I really just didn't want the apartment to look like pepto bismol threw up all over it. Or at least a peach shade of pepto bismol.

As I'm in training as a southern bell, I cannot denounce the color peach as a household or wardrobe accessory. However, I agree that in chic-Chicago, silver is the better choice. If there's one thing I've learned in the South, it's that your behavior should always fit your surroundings -- it's just the polite thing to do (i.e. champagne and heels at society events, beer and bare feet at a barbeque).
Besides, I'm always up for fun, music, and pizza.

Well, all that silver is going to look pretensious and like daddy always says "an ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure." FYI- my father is the poet laureate of Dogwood Lane.

I'm so glad that Abby really believes that your behavior should always match your surroundings. That's why I spend all of my time topless at live music events.

I was thinking the striped candy cane look would be even cooler than the peach color. Wouldn't it be fun to have it like that for even just a month?

I don't know what to think about the peach/silver debate, but I do know that I'm going to be inviting Lindy to a lot of concerts this summer.
