I'm grateful that I have to cross the river everyday to get to work. This is the coldest place in Chicago--where the wind whips right through you. Crossing the river in the morning like this reminds me that a) I am alive b) I am lucky for my North Face gear and c) my day can only get better.

KT--I appreciate your thankful posts. What a great lady! Maybe if you're a true friend you'll jump into the river for me just once. You don't have to swim, but jump in and get your hair wet.
Lindy, I think that's an excellent idea. In fact, I propose that you do it on the one year anniversary of our law school graduation -- as a tribute to all of us. The river will be warmer by then -- maybe only 10 below zero at that point.
Yeah--I like where you're going Abby. Except...it's already past the one year anniversary of our law school graduation. Let's make it 1.5 year anniversary.
In honor of your river greatfullness I would like to name 3 river related movies:
1) The River
2) The River Wild
3) A River Runs Through It
I'm not say anyone should or shouldn't see these movies (it's not that kind of blog comment), I'm just saying there are a lot of movies abour rivers.
You crack me up. I love the way you write. Gush gush gush
