A hit and a miss

So this weekend I finally finished a ridiculous book that I thought would be good . . . "loving frank." I bought it (against our family rule of not buying books) because I thought, "oh this will be a great book, I've heard good things about it and Ross loves all things flw." But actually the book was lamer than lame and boring to the limit. Out of a sense of responsibility and an attempt to not waste my borders "investment" I felt like I had to finish it. I don't recommend it. On that note--I think Ross will still read it . . . after all it is about flw.

So that is the miss . . . the hit was actually the movie "Miss Potter." My mom, my sister and my nieces all highly recommended this flick. Even with all those recommendations we received it from netflix with less than high hopes. We started it last night at 10:30 (which is practically my bedtime) thinking . . well we'll just start it and not like it so then we can send it back in the mail and get something better. Incredibly, we couldn't turn it off and even more miraculously . . . I didn't fall asleep watching it. I was too interested in the story to give up on it and succumb to slumber.

I hate to have to say it, Kitty, but both those things sound like total duds.
