Dinner Gone Wrong

We were planning on having some people over for a delicious dinner of apricot chicken, homemade cornbread, salad etc.--you get the drift home-cooked meal. We decided that since our oven has a "time bake" we would have the chicken start cooking and by the time we got home from church it would be ready for eating. We couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of having the chicken cook for an hour---the chicken cooked for four hours! By the time we got home from church this is what we found. Randomly we served up a nasty costco pizza to our guests. We are still trying to air out the apricot chicken smell. I think we might start investing in the company that makes febreze.

Why didn't you tell your guests that it was blackened chicken? They would have loved it. Perhaps you should have gone with what you know best...cooking sandwiches. I hope you made everyone forget you feed them Costco pizza by hosting a rousing DDR dance off.

Hmm...I think I've actually had that kind of chicken before. My mom called it "cajun chicken." Thank goodness for Costco though. It all sounds better than the cereal we've had for dinner the last 3 nights (good thing they pack cereal with vitamins and minerals)!

Lily--it is so great to know you are alive! You are now a mother--that means you can eat cereal for dinner everyday and no one can say anything about it.

Lily, I hope that is Muffin Top cereal you've been enjoying. (See blog entry title "This is just wrong")
