I've been slow to blog and I blame this:

I know that it has been a week and I know that probably, from the untrained eye, it looks like we have made zero to minimal progress on our little fix-up project. However, as of last night - we've made a lot of progress. It is still a disaster zone but there is an end in sight. Maybe. Also, we watched the show "
Hoarders" one night while our house was looking like this - Greg freaked out and cleaned everything up - I guess he was worried we were well on our way to this:
To clarify (this is for Toddcat) - this is a picture from the show Hoarders NOT from our house. I repeat . . . this is NOT our house.
Anyway. We might just have our house back together this week. If we're lucky and if my head cold clears up. In the meantime - take a look at this fancy mirror we plan to place in the bathroom. This is a before and after pic - I'll let you decide which is the before and which is the after:

Hoarders freaked me out. I had to clean it up IMMEDIATELY. I'm not sure I can watch that show while we are in construction mode.
I really like how you managed to stretch that circle into a much more appealing oval!
I agree with Jaacen. That hardly looks like the same mirror. I do like how you painted it to match all your jewelry.
I hate to point this out, but the photo from your post on Jan 11 and this photo today are almost identical except, of course, that the retro halogen lamp is missing. Please tell me you painted more than a mirror and the 2 square feet of wall we see here in the last 8 days. You should be on a show like Trading Spaces where they are constantly on your case about finishing the job in 24 hours, no matter how big the job is.
The picture that you claim is from the show Horders and not really your house (which I have a hard time believing) reminds me of your old place. Remember that time I found a peanut sprouting on your floor amidst all the debris?
Toddcat - I really don't know what to say. I'm sorry that the halogen lamp isn't in the new shot - but rest assurred we still have it and it still lights up the place better than any fire. Also Rosscat thinks that the fact that you can paint your house so fast (as compared to us) means that you just do a crappy job. Just a thought. Additionally- one peanut - on the floor - ONE - does not a peanut farm or hoarders house make.
Well, you tell Ross to rest assured that he is dead wrong and my paint job looks awesome! I really don't understand how he paints (and cooks eggs) at a glacial pace. It's like he loves painting and egg cooking so much that he wants to drag it out as long as possible.
